Movie in the Park and Deer Ridge Community Association’s 45th Anniversary Party!

Please come and help celebrate 45 years of working together to make Deer Ridge a vibrant community of choice. We will celebrate our wonderful people and community with cake, cupcakes, coffee, and camaraderie, and maybe a few memories of good times working together.

Where: Yellow Slide Park (Deerview Dr and Deer Ridge Dr SE)
When: August 16 at 5:00 pm
Cost: Free
Membership: Not necessary, but always encouraged

There will be hot dogs, drinks, treats, cake, cupcakes, and coffee. Entertainment for all ages is planned for before the movie – a bouncy castle, face-painting, all the fun events of previous years, and more. New for this year, Calgary Foothills Soccer Club, who practice on the field at Yellow Slide Park, will attend to bring soccer fun and encouragement for kids of all skill levels to join in the beautiful game (no soccer membership required – just a wish to play).

All this and a movie, too! The name of the movie will be announced closer to the event date..

Movie at Yellow Slide Park

The Deer Ridge Community Association is hosting a free Movie in Yellow Slide Park evening on Saturday August 19, 2023. The festivities will start at 7:00 pm with free hot dogs, beverages, chips, and more. Popcorn will be ready when the movie starts.

Come out and enjoy bouncy castles, free face painting, free henna and free sand art. A free raffle will take place before the movie starts. Lots of family fun will be waiting for you at Yellow Slide Park!

Please bring a Food Bank Donation for a raffle ticket.

Bring your blankets and lawn chairs out to Yellow Slide Park and enjoy the movie “Minions: The Rise of Gru” starting at dusk. Please dress for the weather as it may cool down at night.

Thank you to all that attended the August 2015 “Movie in Yellow Slide Park” in Deer Ridge.

Thank you to all that attended the Deer Ridge “Movie in Yellow Slide Park”. The Lego Movie was a huge success and again we would like to thank the Raffle Sponsors for this event. We would also like to thank the Calgary Police Constables for attending, allowing everyone to interact with the police vehicles and handing out the information during their stay. The Face Painting was done by Cheryl Melatdoost who stayed much longer than anticipated to ensure that there was no face left unpainted at the end of the night. Thank you Cheryl ! Thank you to COOP for supplying the food and beverages.
The Deer Ridge Community Association Volunteer board members again did an outstanding job in planning, organizing and implementing another successful Deer Ridge Event. Many thanks goes to the Volunteers: Katrina, Dillon, Ben, Dawn, Lanis Gord, Karen, Alana, Sean, Roy, Bob and our many friends, family and neighbors that help in more ways than we can ever thank you for. The Deer Ridge Community Association cannot be successful without their commitment.
