The Deer Ridge Community Association’s Annual Family Winter Skate was a tremendous success.
With Mother Nature contributing the perfect day ( +10 C), we had a minimum of 150 people attend over the day. Our best attendance ever.
We gave out 280 Hot Dogs, 150 bottles of water, 2 full containers of Hot Chocolate and a container of Coffee.
Thank you to our Fantastic Volunteers who again kept the event moving and all who attended very happy and well fed.
Special Thanks to
-Lanis for organizing the the Hot Chocolate/coffee from Starbucks.
-Christina Steed [of Calgary-Fish Creek MLA office] for donating some of the bottled water and the condiments. Also free Hockey pucks and blow up balls-giveaways for the kids.
-Deer Ridge Community Association for donating the the hotdogs, buns and all the support, and miscellaneous items needed to put it all together.
I would like to thank the following volunteers who donated their time and efforts on the day, on the ground, to ensure the people of the the Deer Ridge Community enjoyed their time at this event.

Annual Family Winter Skate
Mark you calendars – Saturday, January 14th, 2023 for a fun afternoon of skating at the Deer Ridge Community ice rinks. The Family Skate is a free family and friends’ event open to everyone. It has been a much anticipated and well attended event that features music, a fire to warm up, hot dogs and hot chocolate, and lots of skating. The leisure skate and shinny hockey outdoor rinks are located at 155 Deermont Way SE (Behind Don Bosco School). Please park on Deermont Way,

Due to the extreme cold this Sunday, the skating with Santa portion of the kid’s party has been cancelled. There will still be treats and crafts in the Jensen room.

Come out to the Queensland community rink and skate with Santa, Mrs. Clause and Roy the Christmas Elf
Enjoy winter games, skating, come warm up in the Jensen room and enjoy a holiday craft and a cup of hot chocolate and goodies.

We are excited to invite you to attend the Deer Ridge Community Association AGM in person! You’ll meet the current volunteer Board, as well as your community, municipal, and provincial representatives. This is a great opportunity to add your voice to the discussion and present new ideas. Would you like to volunteer as a Board member? Nominations are open for the Board of Directors. Residents of Deer Ridge with current membership are eligible to vote in-person.

Location: The meeting will be held in person at Fish Creek United Church (formerly Deer Park United Church) located at 77 Deerpoint Road S.E.
