Here we are in March, already – it’s almost spring where we can finally all get together again. And it’s turning out to be a busy time.
January Family Skate
Our Annual Family Skate Day took place on January 14. Mother Nature gifted us with a glorious day, and we had what was likely the very best turnout ever. More than 150 people showed up to enjoy the hot chocolate and coffee donated by Starbucks, and the hot dogs expertly barbecued and served up by our volunteers. The sunshine, the perfect ice, the warmth of the fire, and most especially, the warmth of all the smiles made for a truly perfect day. A great big shoutout to all the volunteers and sponsors who made this a wonderful event.
Spring Fling
The Queensland Diamond Cove and Deer Ridge Community Associations are getting together for a Spring Fling Party – an afternoon of spring crafts and games for kids, to be held at Queensland Community Center on Saturday, April 1, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. Refreshments will be served, so bring the kiddos and come have some springtime fun with us!
Daylight Saving Time
Daylight Saving Time returns March 12, 2023. Remember to set your clocks forward an hour and please be careful when you’re driving around our neighbourhood – remember our kiddos will be out later in the evenings to enjoy that extra hour of sunshine and play time.
Membership
Deer Ridge Community Association memberships are available all year round.
