Deer Ridge Community Association

OUR VISION: We will be a safe community with established programs and facilities, committed volunteers, and we will be financially stable.

OUR MISSION: To enhance the quality of life in Deer Ridge by supporting a vibrant, safe, welcoming community, and establishing and fulfilling the common goals, needs, and interests of our neighborhood.

Deer Ridge is located in the southeast sector of the City of Calgary in Ward 14. It is an established community developed in 1978.

The boundaries of the Community:
A. on the north, Canyon Meadows Drive
B. on the east, escarpment
C. on the west, Bow Bottom Trail
D. on the south, escarpment to 146 Avenue, then 146 Avenue to Deerfield Drive. Deerfield Drive north to Deer Saxon Drive. Deer Saxon Drive to Bow Bottom Trail.

Deer Ridge facilities include two outdoor ice rink surfaces for winter hockey and leisure ice skating, two tennis courts, pickleball courts, and four playgrounds. In addition to park areas there are also multiple soccer fields and two baseball diamonds.

From spring to fall the Deer Ridge Community Gardens are very popular.

The eastern edge and upper south-side of the community features a designated area for off-leash dog walking.

There is a vibrant shopping and services area within the community which includes multiple retail stores, restaurants, banking, personal health & improvement as well as pet services.

There is an extensive network of pathways and bikeways accessible from the community.

Residents enjoy easy access to Fish Creek Provincial Park via Bow Bottom Trail, Canyon Meadows Drive, or the various pathways leading into the park.

Fish Creek Provincial Park – A protected natural green space with the Bow River and walking and biking trails throughout. The park has over 20 square kilometers of space with a restaurant and café, and an Environmental Learning Centre. There are also several day use sites within the park.

Sikome Lake – Man-made lake within in Fish Creek Park with sandy beaches, swimming, picnic areas, restrooms, showers, a concession, and trails leading to other areas of the park. Please visit Sikome Aquatic Facility for more information.

A Community Association membership is a great way to support your community.  Membership is inexpensive and voluntary; contributing to the upkeep of Deer Ridge Community facilities and supports programs and events such as Movie at Yellow Slide Park, Family Winter Skate Day, Community Festival, Children’s Christmas Party, Youth Red Cross Babysitter’s Program, Community Safety/Clean-up and Planning & Development.
