What: Free junk disposal – bring your junk to the community
centre – there will be two trucks to take your junk – FREE !
Items not permitted: Tires, Home Appliances, Paint, Household
Chemicals, Propane Tanks, Microwave Ovens, Car Batteries,
Liquids, Large Furniture, Metals or Glass.
Recycle as much as you can !
Who: We will meet at 9:00am and break into small groups to tackle
park litter and graffiti sites. Please dress accordingly – the event is
rain or shine. Call people, get a group together, come out and
meet your neighbours…
Why: Your community is only worth what you put into it !
Beauty and the Beast poster Beast (2)
Fairview Schools Drama Group is performing Disney’s musical- Beauty and the Beast at Fairview School this week at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday-April 10th, 11th and 12th – 7849 Fairmount Drive SE Tickets are $7.00 for everyone over the age of 5. A concession will be open before and after the performance and during intermission. Proceeds go towards future performances It promises to be a great night of entertainment so bring your friends, family, neighbours and anyone else who enjoys theater.

I read in the community newsletter that you were looking for photos of the Deer Ridge community. Here is one I took of my son in the community ice rink just behind our home. This photo was used in an exhibit called the Urban Exposure Project, a United Way initiative. The theme was “community” and I thought this image, with the “light painting” using long exposure, was a perfect representation of my community.
