
Do you have junk or household items you would like to recycle or dispose of for free? Bring your items to the Queensland Community Centre on May 30, 2026, and recycle or dispose of your items.
Electronics Recycling and Metal Recycling are also available for drop off.
Community Cleanups are designed to accept household items that do not fit in your black cart. Commercial waste from businesses or professional contractors is not accepted by City garbage trucks.

Accepted items (City garbage trucks):
- Non-donatable furniture (e.g. mattresses, sofas, chairs, desks, dressers, outdoor furniture)
- Oversized non-donatable household items (e.g. broken blinds, grandfather clocks, taxidermy items)
- Toilets, sinks, and similar fixtures
- Cabinetry
- Broken recreational items (e.g. old treadmills)
- Lumber from old fences and decks
- Carpets and rugs
- Ceramics
Unaccepted items (City garbage trucks):
- Car batteries
- Tires
- Glass (e.g. windowpanes, glass tabletops)
- Household appliances containing freon (e.g. refrigerators, freezers)
- Liquids (e.g. including cooking oil)
- Household hazardous waste (e.g. propane tanks, paint)
- Household chemicals (e.g. gardening, cleaning, automotive chemicals)
- Sod or dirt
- Railway ties
- Commercial waste
- Yard waste, or green cart material
- Recyclables or blue cart material
